Verify once
A document check with any vendor in the network, held behind a passkey on your device. No account, no recovery phrase.

Deduplicate quietly
Duplicate-resistant across every issuer in the network — a weaker promise than it first sounds, and deliberately so. A typical adult holds two or three identity documents, so the honest claim is about documents rather than about people. Only a biometric root could do better.
The anchor is a pseudorandom function of your document, not an encryption of it: there is no key that turns it back. What threshold cooperation could do is guess document numbers and check them — which is why evaluations are rate-limited and every validator’s evaluation count is published beside its issuance count, so a gap between the two is visible to anyone. Tracing a presentation is a different mechanism entirely, and it needs the custodians and the panel together.

Prove anywhere
Your device builds a zero-knowledge proof in about 124 ms (M4 MacBook Pro, Chrome). Services verify it entirely offline, so MeIRL going down never locks anyone out.
Privacy here is architectural, not contractual — and it is checkable rather than promised: the sets are attested in zero knowledge each epoch, the running binaries hash to published source, the deletion jobs publish signed counts, and an auditor under mandate reads the private stores.
